Unusually, this unit uses three fiction texts to explore facts and information about the rainforest.
Children then use all they have learnt to create an informative, persuasive text. They write in role as one of the rainforest villagers, joining their pieces together to create a collaborative final outcome. The teaching sequence for this unit is an extended sequence, with 2 parts within the ‘capturing ideas and oral rehearsal phase’ . This can be amended or shortened if time does not allow for the full sequence.
