This unit is based around the short animated film ‘Dragonslayer’.
The film demonstrates perfect balance between humour and emotion. Although there is no dialogue, the detailed animation brings to life the thougths and emotions of the dragon slayer. The children explore the main character in the film and the dilemma he faces by looking in detail at the camera angles, colours, setting, sounds and story. They use drama strategies and oral re-telling to practice, develop and enhance the story before writing their own dilemma story.
