This unit begins by looking in detail at Meerkat Mail by Emily Gravett. It would serve as a useful extension for those children who studied this book in Y2 in the unit ‘Stories by the same author’. If children have not been taught this unit previously, teachers may find it useful to also include some of the content from the Y2 unit.
Once they have explored the Emily Gravett picture book, the children go on to enjoy Dear Miss and Dear Greenpeace.
